Summer is almost here and the Library is heating up with awesome youth programs in May!
In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Library is going to have Namaste! StorYoga, where children of all ages can benefit from a little stretching, breathing, and movement. Poses are easily modified to meet any needs or limitations people may have. Anything you can do to tie fitness to an engaging story in some way is always beneficial.
Participants should wear comfortable, stretchy clothes and bring your own mat or towel. Space is limited, please arrive early.
This program will be featured at:
- Hart Memorial Library: Monday, May 22 at 11am
- Buenaventura Lakes Library: Wednesday, May 17 at 10:30am
- Veterans Memorial Library – St. Cloud Branch: Wednesday, May 31 at 10am
- Poinciana Library: Tuesday, May 9 at 11:30am
- West Osceola Library: Wednesday, May 17 at 4:30pm
One Book, One Community will be coming to Buenaventura Lakes Library on May 6 at 2pm! Introduce your child to WISH, by the award-winning author, Barbara O’Connor. Eleven-year-old Charlie Reese, with the help of a true-blue friend, a big-hearted aunt and uncle, and the dog of her dreams, unexpectedly learns the true meaning of family in the least likely of places.
In partnership with the Orlando Sentinel, kids that attend will receive a copy of the book to read and enjoy activities that will bring the book to life.
