TechCentral, the innovative makerspace located on the second floor of the Hart Memorial Library, is proud to announce the expansion of its facilities with the addition of the Memory Lab! Made possible through generous support from the Osceola Friends of the Library, this new space further enhance the array of resources available to library patrons.
The Memory Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technology aimed at preserving precious memories. Patrons can convert old photos, home videos, and audio recordings into digital formats using equipment provided in the lab. Visitors can reserve time for self-service access with assistance available from trained technicians. Files can be saved onto various storage media such as USB flash drives, SD cards, or uploaded to cloud-based platforms like Dropbox or Google Drive.
The Memory Lab supports conversion from a wide range of formats including VHS tapes, DVDs, vinyl records, cassette tapes, printed photographs, and more. Its versatile photo and document scanner can even convert documents into editable text, making it a valuable resource for digitizing and preserving historical records.
