Presidential Preference Primary
Florida’s Presidential Preference Primary is on Tuesday, March 19. The deadline for voters to register to vote or update their party affiliation for this primary is Tuesday, February 20.

This is part of the presidential nominating process for Florida’s two major political parties. The preference primary is where voters registered with those parties express which presidential candidate they would want to see in the general election ballot in November.
Primary Election
Florida’s Primary Election is on Tuesday, August 20.
The following branches are polling locations for the Primary Election:
Florida is a closed primary state. That means, voters can only vote in the party that they are registered with.
The primaries is a process where voters vote for which candidate should receive a nomination from their political party. Primary election is held on the Tuesday 11 weeks prior to the General Election. The candidate that receives the most votes in the primary election will be nominated for the presidential candidacy.
General Election
Florida’s general election is on Tuesday, November 5.
The following branches are polling locations for the General Election:
The general election is where voters cast their vote for the next President of the United States. This election is held in each county on the first Tuesday in November.
Early Voting
For Florida, the early voting periods are:
- Presidential Preference Primary: Saturday, March 9-17
- Primary Election: Monday, August 5-18
- General Election: Monday, October 21-Sunday, November 3
The branch that will be the polling location for early voting is the West Osceola Library.
For each election process (Presidential Preference, Primary, and General election) there is an early voting period where voters can cast their ballot earlier than the designated voting date.
