Veterans Memorial-St. Cloud Branch is hosting “Lectures in History: U.S. Supreme Court-21 Landmark Cases,” every Monday starting April 10 at 6:30 pm. This three-part lecture series is presented by Steve G. Sweetman, Professor of History at Eastern Florida State College.
Professor Sweetman is going to discuss the fascinating history behind 21 of the most important and impactful landmark decisions from the Supreme Court. A few of the cases he is going to discuss are:
- Dred Scott v. Sanford (1857)
- Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka (1954)
- Griswold v. Connecticut (1965)
- Roe v. Wade (1973)
- United States v. Nixon (1974)
