Multipurpose Rooms

The Osceola Library System provides multipurpose rooms for lawful public use. All uses of the multipurpose rooms must be in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal statutes. Multipurpose rooms are available for reservation for meetings and events of a civic, cultural, religious, political, or educational nature. The direct sale or promotion of goods and services by for-profit businesses is prohibited in multipurpose rooms. Available multipurpose rooms:

Hart Memorial Central Library

  • Roseada Room (capacity = 50)
  • Lillie Room (capacity = 110)
Buenaventura Branch Library
  • Multipurpose room (capacity = 70)
Poinciana Branch Library
  • Poinciana Room (capacity = 60)
Veterans Memorial Library - St. Cloud Branch
  • Robert A. Fisk Room (capacity = 65)

Applications and Reservations:

Reservations for multipurpose rooms may be requested by calling the Library's Room Reservations line at 407.742.8821. Additionally, applications are available in the Library for pick up and may also be downloaded through the link below. A completed form is required each time a room is requested and may be faxed to the Hart Memorial Central Library or returned to the nearest branch Library.

  • The person making arrangements for the reservation of a room must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, will assume full responsibility for the use and condition of the room, and will be held responsible for any costs associated with cleaning or repairing damage done to the room.
  • Reservations for multipurpose rooms are reviewed in the order in which they are received.
  • Multipurpose rooms are not available for private social functions, including weddings and birthday or anniversary parties.
  • The Library reserves the right to cancel a multipurpose room reservation or to immediately terminate a meeting or event in progress if it disturbs regular Library operations or is found to be in conflict with this policy.
  • All meetings and events held in multipurpose rooms must be free and open to the public. No fees, charges, dues, or donations may be charged or solicited from those in attendance.
  • Children or teens may utilize the multipurpose rooms for events or meetings if supervised by an adult.
  • Reservations are not complete until the form has been approved and the requestor is notified.
  • Rooms that have not been reserved in advance may be used on a first come, first serve basis with all applicable allowances and restrictions.

Scheduling:

Requests for the use of a multipurpose room may be made up to (6) months in advance. Groups or individuals may reserve multipurpose rooms up to (12) times in a fiscal year (October-September) system-wide.
First priority in scheduling multipurpose rooms will be given to Library programs, including Friends groups, staff meetings and Library Advisory Board meetings.
Second priority will be given to other Osceola County departments.
Third priority is given to non-profit organizations in order of request.
The Library Director will make the final determination/decision in the case of any conflict of scheduling.
While every attempt will be made to accommodate all groups, reservations cannot be guaranteed based on past use and times.

Hours and Days:

Multipurpose rooms are available for reservation only during the hours the Library is open to the public. The hours for Libraries featuring multipurpose room space are:

Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Sunday, 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Multipurpose rooms must be vacated at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to Library closing.

Guidelines for use:

  • Meetings and events held in multipurpose rooms may not disrupt the use of the Library by others.
  • All those attending meetings and events in multipurpose rooms are subject to the Library Code of Conduct.
  • Groups and individuals using multipurpose rooms are responsible for setting up and taking down tables, chairs, and equipment and should make arrangements to set up in advance and tidy the multipurpose rooms at the conclusion of an event or meeting.
  • Multipurpose rooms must be left in a neat, clean, and orderly condition after their use or the privilege to use the multipurpose room for future events may be revoked.
  • The Library may provide overhead projectors, screens or LCD televisions, and easels with display paper in for use in multipurpose rooms, dependent upon availability or condition. Groups or individuals needing the use of these resources should verify their status prior to their event. All other resources or supplies, including computers or cabling, must be provided by the group or individual.
  • Meetings and events held in multipurpose rooms must not exceed room capacity.
  • Refreshments are permitted in multipurpose rooms, but must be removed at the conclusion of the event or reservation.
  • The Library is not responsible for resources, equipment, or personal belongings left in multipurpose rooms.
  • Permission to use a multipurpose room does not constitute an endorsement by the Library or the County.
  • Promotional materials and announcements for meetings and events shall not suggest or imply the endorsement of the Library or the County.
  • All promotional materials and announcements for meetings and events held in multipurpose rooms must have the approval of the Library Director prior to distribution.
  • The Library's address, phone number, email address and fax number cannot be used for the purpose of contact information for a meeting or event.
